Career Development Programmes

WKC & Career Ready Internship Programme

The college has partnered with Career Ready to provide students with paid internships, lasting a minimum of four weeks, enabling learners to build crucial experience, which is vital in transitioning from education to rewarding employment.

How they work

Once you gain a place on the programme, you will be matched with a employer mentor, attend masterclasses and have a chance to go on a summer internships which are paid and last a minimum of four weeks to maximise the benefits.

We work closely with our partner employers to provide them with the resources, support, and guidance needed to ensure that the internship works for students and the host organisation.

WKC Career Ready programme students have also been placed with other organisations including: Arcadis, Media Trust and VGC Group, click on their photos below to view their stories.

Investment 20/20

WKC have partnered with Investment 20/20 to help learners explore careers opportunities in the investment banking world.

The Investment 20/20 scheme offers jobs across all of the specialist areas in the investment industry depending on where your interests and skills are.

This year, Manuela from BTEC L3 Business was part of the Investment 20/20 college programme, where she got to attend employer masterclasses and work shadow at top investment banks.

This then helped her become ‘application ready’ and she won a place with Barings on their Trainee Programme.

If you would like to discuss Career Ready or Investment 20/20, speak with an adviser from the Careers and Employability team in room K004 (King's Cross).
