Employ Autism Civil Service internship programme

An exciting eight week paid employment opportunity in the Civil Service is being offered to approximately 200 autistic young people.


This paid internship will provide you with the opportunity to experience working for the UK Civil Service who have a key role in supporting government to develop and implement its policies as effectively as possible, helping to bring innovative solutions to some of the biggest issues facing society.  


In 2024, 96% of interns rated their Civil Service internship experience as good or excellent.


The work you do will vary based on the department and team you are assigned to.


You could be conducting research, providing project support, and assisting with the creation of policy documents. As part of the experience, you will also have the opportunity to participate in a range of events and workshops organised by Ambitious about Autism and the Cabinet Office.


Skills and qualifications required for the role

  • Aged between 18 and 25 at the time of the internship

  • Have the right to work in the UK and meet eligibility requirements under Civil Service Nationality Rules

  • Able to work independently as well as contributing to a team

  • An interest in pursuing a career in the Civil Service

  • Able to work with people at varying levels of ability and responsibility

  • Motivated to help make improvements on major policy issues or on how public services are provided.

Salary £452 per week


Placement begins Monday 30 June 2025, for eight weeks
