This in-person experience will take a closer look at the role of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as a regulator of aerospace and aviation, providing insight into how they promote innovation in the industry, and ensure that standards and safety are always adhered to.
Throughout this one-week experience, you will be taken to different areas and responsibilities of the Civil Aviation Authority, and you'll take part in a five-day placement shadowing key experts at the CAA.

Final day to reflect on experience and to celebrate!
As part of the work experience you will need to be prepared to travel to Gatwick or Canary Wharf, London depending on your chosen sector.
Corporate Services:
Corporate Services provide support and services to internal and external customers and business partners in the aviation and aerospace industry. This area is for people who are good at communicating within a team, can show leadership, and can be adaptable to carry out and complete complex tasks. You’ll shadow and work with professionals from administrative functions such as Human Resources, Information Services or Communications.
Legal:
Legal provide advice to other teams within the CAA by helping to ensure that decisions are legally robust, advising on the applicable regulations and supporting the development of aviation policy and guidance. This area is well-suited to people with good problem-solving and communication skills, with aspiring lawyers particularly encouraged to apply. You’ll shadow and work with lawyers in the Office of the General Counsel, which is the CAA’s in-house legal team.
Aviation Safety and Security:
Aviation Safety and Security are vital in the operation and regulation of the aviation world. This area suits people who love aviation and are good at analysing risk in various situations, enjoy problem solving and making decisions to ensure the best outcome. You’ll shadow and work with professionals from Aviation Security, Safety and Airspace Regulation or International.
Day Five
Last - but certainly not least - your final day will give you the chance to reflect on your time spent with the CAA. You’ll have learnt a lot about different areas within the CAA and the wider industry, and you’ll get the chance to think about what this means to you! Plus, you’ll get the chance to celebrate the week and all of your accomplishments, taking you potential to new heights!
