To celebrate their forthcoming exhibition, 'The Time is Always Now: Artists Reframe the Black Figure', The Box and Arts University Plymouth are thrilled to launch a 'Children and Young People’s Portrait Competition' in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery.
The theme is UNDER-REPRESENTATION and to enter, you can submit a portrait created which shows those not often represented on the walls of a museum or gallery. Your portrait can be of anyone you choose: yourself, a friend, family member, icon and can be produced in any medium.
Prize: One winner from each category will win £150 to spend in The Box and have their work displayed at The Box this summer.
Categories: Primary, Secondary, and 18-25 years
How to take part: Scan or take a high-quality photograph of your portrait (min 300dpi) and send it to The Box via email. Label the file with your initials, the date and category. For example, the label for Joe Bloggs who submitted an entry on 30 April in the primary school category would be JB300424P (use S for the secondary school category and YP for the 18-25 years category).
Closing date: 5pm on 12 May 2024.
Terms & Conditions: Click here to read the Full Ts&Cs on The Box website.
